LMD is co-sponsoring a breakfast program along with the Greater Baltimore Committee-The Leadership, featuring Andrew Kleine, Baltimore City's Budget Director, on December 4, 7:30 to 9:00 am, in the offices of the Greater Baltimore Committee, 111 S. Calvert Street, Suite 1700 (see below).

TOPIC:  Baltimore's Budgetary Fiscal Challenges 
 
We all know that our major cities are facing fiscal challenges that will effect tax rates, services delivered, pension funds and other important issues.  Come to this event to hear how Baltimore is responding to the challenge.
Andrew Kleine, Baltimore City's Budget Director, will discuss how Baltimore’s finances are faring in the economic downturn and what future budgets will look like.  He will explain Mayor Dixon’s new Outcome Budgeting initiative and share results from the City’s first-ever citizen survey.  He came to Baltimore in 2008 after 14 years as a budget and policy professional in the federal government, including service at the U.S. Department of Transportation, the White House Office of Management and Budget, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
